Nolan Martin
Tax strategy built into the plan: an Estate Planning Associate and Certified Financial Planner™ who grew up around the family business and now makes sure a client's tax strategy and their estate plan tell the same story.
Nolan Martin is an Estate Planning Associate and Certified Financial Planner™ at ArchAngel Trust and Probate, APC. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Services from the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State. He lives and works in San Diego working out of ArchAngel Trust and Probate, APC. Mission Valley office.
Nolan is the son of Chris and Victoria Martin, and he grew up in the family businesses his parents built — which means he came to this work with an unusually early, unusually personal understanding of it. Watching a family business get built, run, and eventually planned for gave him a front-row seat to exactly the kinds of questions ArchAngel's clients bring in the door. It's part of why he was drawn to estate planning in the first place, and why the work still feels personal to him.
As a CFP® professional and EA focused on proactive tax planning, Nolan helps clients identify opportunities to reduce their tax burden as part of a well-coordinated estate plan. His approach goes beyond traditional tax preparation. He focuses on year-round tax planning — understanding each client's unique circumstances, identifying strategies that may apply, and making sure that tax planning is coordinated with the rest of their estate plan rather than handled as an afterthought. The goal isn't simply to find more strategies; it's to determine which ones actually make sense for a given family, how they work together, and how they get implemented effectively. Nolan believes good tax planning is proactive rather than reactive — by looking ahead and thinking through the potential tax impact of a decision before it's made, he helps clients make more informed choices and avoid leaving opportunities on the table.
Outside the office, Nolan is happiest near the water or on the move. He's an avid surfer, and when he's not in the water he's usually seeking out one of San Diego's more unique dining spots. He plays racquet sports, including tennis and padel, and in the winter months he heads for the mountains to snowboard.
